Really???.........

Yea Pirates management, you can kiss my ass.

That is my only comment for you, Please Kiss My Ass.

To the players: I am so sorry that you guys have to go through this. They are not being fair to you at all. You deserve more from your bosses than what they are giving you. I will always be a Pirates fan and I will always love the game of baseball but this, this is bullshit.

If I were wearing the black and gold tonight I might have a cold or "tweak" a muscle and not be able to play tonight.

100

Woo! My 100th post!

I guess I finally did get into this blog thing..... I thought for a second that the 100th post should be uber-meaningful and really make a point.

Nope..... Random post acknowledging the post.....Update on my mood (slightly more awake, no caffeine though, still just water).... Co-worker wandered away = a few minutes of silence.

Still wondering the shuttle psychic........oops! I didn't write that yet did it??
Coming soon...... The Shuttle Psychic

I've decided no gym today after work but I will do my mother's running around and then do a work out tape at home, or possibly walking if anybody is up for it..... Let's get this!

Good Advice

And right on time too!! That's why I have such good friends, they can lift my spirits!!

As Ben Franklin said:
In wine there is wisdom,
in beer there is freedom,
in water there is bacteria.

Clearly this is the thought process I have always gone through but I think that plan could conflict with the 10 month plan...

Naptime?

Clearly working in a hospital is stressful and I'm used to that. I thrive on stress but unnecessary stress is what causes problems in these places.

There is no need to constantly monitor what your co-workers are doing. There is no need to get upset when another patient presents. Announcing that policies will or will not change is necessary to prevent major miscommunication between hospital staff and patients.

I'm probably just bitchy because I basically swam to work today but for heaven's sake lets drop some of the BS stress!

BTW............290 days until the cruise!

Monday, July 27, 2009

By the Way...

Only 292 days left until the cruise!!

Seriously?....

So after much discussion and many hours of watching NKOTB in anticipation of the cruise in May, we decided that the 10 month plan must be taken seriously at this point.

Then I walked into work and it's taco bar day..... Bitches.....Little tear.

So I bought my bagel and vitamin water and went on my way..... One bottle of water down, 4 more to go. Then a workout here and maybe walking when I get home.

10 Months........

DailyPlate.com

Now that time is ticking towards the NKOTB cruise in May we've decided that the healthy living plans must be in place.

So far what we have in the works is lots of water, lots of walking, more water, time in the gym, water and workout tapes.

Today we got a tip from a friend of L's...... www.thedailyplate.com a cool site that helps you calculate your calories for the day depending on how much you want to lose. Very cool. I'm uber excited that there is a newer version of the site on www.livestrong.com complete with an app for my blackberry.

There are goals and charts and blogging. Plenty of things to keep people motivated! Here we go!!!

Big Ben

I am happy to say that this law suit against Big Ben is much less reported (at least in Pittsburgh) than when he trips over a rock at Training Camp.

Clearly I don't know the details of what actually happened in Vegas but I'm willing to be that in the end this could blow over as a desperate attempt at grabbing attention (and money of course). And I truly hope thats the way things blow over.

If there is more to the situation than what it seems right now then I hope the punishment fits the crime.

Hopefully in the end this will all be done with and everyone involved will learn a valuable lesson.

Brewers vs Pirates

Well, last night's game didn't work out exactly as planned but it was still a hell of a good time!

The rain was definitely a damper but during the 2 hour rain delay I got to catch up with an old friend. Thankfully, I did not attempt to straighten the hair because I would have been an unusually angry Pirates fan last night if my hair was messed up too. I did however wear flip flops which I thought I was going to slip out of and fall because they were so wet by the time the game started.

During the rain delay we got talked into the All-You-Can-Eat seats, I dropped my blackberry in a puddle and watched a couple make out up against the stairs. But once the sky finally cleared up a bit we were ready to watch Jason Kendall AND Ryan Doumit warm up. Unfortunately they weren't side by side in the bull pens but they were close enough. Awkward angles to take pictures though.

Complete A-MA-ZING-ness for the first pitch.... or not really. We were walking to our seats as they were announcing the celebrity guest to throw out the first pitch. Last night it was none other than Kirk Cameron himself. Fantastic. I'm still trying to figure out who that looks worse for, him or the Pirates.

We then got to our seats and were closely monitored the whole game. I may have corrupted a youth from Long Island because I can be a little rude at times. But hey, the kid and his Dad were laughing and joining in so I'm OK with it.

The usher in our section was insanely serious about keeping the seats organized. It was like there was a flight manifesto and he wanted to make sure the information was correct. Trust me, the 8 of us in the section were on our toes all night.

We couldn't wipe the seats off with the papers towels we brought, had to use the ShamWow's even though we were already wet and it was still raining. Then even though we were the last people in the section, no umbrellas allowed, we wouldn't want to cause a disturbance to ALLLLLL the people around us.

The big moment came when the couple with two young children moved because the teenagers sitting nest to them were being very loud, vulgar and disrespectful to the players. Our section literally had 8 people sitting in it but the usher would not let them sit down until he brought his supervisor over to OK the plan. I really think the supervisor probably wanted to slap him in the back of the head.

I was a little nervous about taking a trip down to the food stand because what if we came back and sat in the opposite seats, he probably would have made us pull our damp and faded stubs out and show him before he would shamwow for us again. We shouldn't have risked it, because when we did decide to go for hot dogs we were begged by an employee to bring her back something to eat and then when I bit into my hot dog bun, it turned to dust and crumbled. Therefore, I ate a bag of peanuts. Apparently after 5 hours hot dog buns go bad. We did however sit in our correct seats because we did not want to cause a disturbance.

There was a father and son in front of us at the game and (luckily) they had just as sick of a sense of humor as us so we got along great. The two travel around to different baseball fields each summer and just check out the teams and the cities. Very cool summer for that kid.

When the rain started again we decided we had had enough and went to stand under the bleachers again. Luckily we did so just in time to see Kendall get into a slight altercation with his former team. Very fun. I always like seeing a grown man being carried away by an even bigger grown man. No one was thrown out of the game, it all returned to normal. The Pirates even tried to lose it in the 9th by giving up 3 runs.

In the end it turned out to be a pretty good game, good times. I finally got to my car and plugged the BlackBerry in and was bombarded by "Big Ben charged with sexual assault".....Uh oh, here we go!

He's back!!

Please explain.....

to me how am I supposed to call patients if my co-worker is constantly talking to me and I'm trying to pretend like I'm actually listening? New job anyone?

She is now telling me about shows that I have no interest in watching. And she won't stop. And both of us should totally be working right now.

Of course though I've decided to blog. I also want one of those desks that I saw on CNN that is a treadmill with a work surface. That will help with the 10 Month Plan!

The Kid is BACK!!!

Tonight Jason Kendall will be back on the field in Pittsburgh!! At least for this series.

Of course I will be in attendance tonight and probably stalking him after the game. There are only a few hotels downtown where they might be staying so what could it hurt to go have a drink in a hotel? With my luck lately I'd say we have a pretty good chance of meeting him!

Time for a good boob shirt and a few drinks!!!

10 Month Plan

Well, apparently the 1 year plan that we came up with has been shortened....Thanks to NKOTB it is now the 10 month plan.

Last night the New Kids posted the dates for their 2010 cruise and I'm pretty sure we have to be there. Not sure how on earth I'll save up the money but hey, we'll give this a try and worst case scenario, I bat my eyelashes at Daddy and ask him for a loan.

Our initial plan gave us until the end of July next year to be in the best shape of our lives, have amazing boyfriends, and even better careers. Well, now we have to accomplish at least the first part by May.

We got this. It comes down to how badly do we want to do inappropriate things with 40 year old men......

I think we all know the answer to that one!

4th Show

Tonight is the NKOTB web cast which will make the 4th time I have "seen" them in the last 4 months!

We've been promised surprises and I can't even imagine what they could be! I can't wait to find out though! And I'm already jealous of whoever JK picks as his lucky fan.

Just a couple more hours!

Movie Night

Last night was the first movie night between the three of us. The success of the night was met with mixed reviews.

Movie = Great
Girls = Awesome as always
Food = Yum
Wine = Uhoh....

Clearly, cell phones are evil and need destroyed.... or at least they need breathalyzers installed in them!

Girls Night!!!

(She's a doctor now, critiquing every one of the diagnoses of the patients. FYI)

Well, the girls and I have managed to plan a movie night for tonight! I can't wait and I'm super excited. I hear rumors of Donnie Wahlberg movies, boxes of wine, Cheez its and perhaps cookie dough.

Is it sad that I really am excited about this?

The frightening part of this is that I'm already planning the pictures that I should take to scrapbook the night.

GADOOSH!

Number Two

(I've also decided to post when she violates HIPPA, so there could be a bunch of these today!)

So congrats to Joey Mac and his wife on expecting their new baby boy.... We realized that if the baby is due in December, it was conceived sometime around March. Which would be right about the time that the NKOTB were in Erie.

All I can remember is leaving that show after the-weekend-we-shall-not-speak-of and driving home to Pittsburgh and trying to get a couple hours of rest before work the next morning and being so tired that we were fantasizing about amazing hotel rooms that the NKOTB probably had.

We had visions of fluffy white robes and showers with super hot water and yummy smelling body wash and shampoo. We were thinking about the soft sheets and down comforters on the uber comfy beds because by that point in the weekend all I wanted was a shower and to sleep.

I guess the situation must have been somewhat similar because it worked for Joey!! Congrats!

Lets see how this works out....

So I've decided to write a blog post every time that my co-worker leaves the office today. I should have started when I got here this morning because I would already have 5 posts for today.

O and BTW, the other woman that I "work" with left 40 minutes after I got here today.... because she was sick....again. And did I mention that she lives over an hour away. Why would you waste your time getting ready and coming in if you know you're going to go right home.

Goobers!

Advice...

How do you stop a 19 year old boy who wants to move out?

He's got no money. No job. He's still in college and wants a new car too.

I'm having trouble advising him that this would probably be a terrible idea. Men....

Stanley Cup

In all this hustle and bustle of the NKOTB concert in Pittsburgh, I completely neglected to blog anything about the Pens winning the STANLEY CUP!

For the first time in my lifetime we are (again) the City of Champions!!!

In all honesty, I didn't even make it out of the house the night of the game. The game was the night after the NKOTB concert and I hadn't even slept more than an hour. (Do we remember that Donnie predicted a Pittsburgh win the night before.) So I rested on the couch and watched the game, the same way I watched the Super Bowl this year.

It is amazing to see young athletes winning here and enjoying the city! They are feeling the love and they are giving it back to the fans. Watching the guys holding the Cup out the window of Mario's magical! Its yet another sign that this city is about to spring to life!

The Powerful Woman's Motto

Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning, Satan shudders & says... 'Oh shit....she's awake!'

Finally!!

The majority of the NKOTB in Pittsburgh concert is posted now! I can finally breathe.

Don't fret though! There is more to come. Especially the emergency drive to (ick) Cleveland to see the concert! Trust me, it better be something good for me to go to that city!

Now that they heavy stuff is out of the way the rest will be much easier to update!

Smooches!

STEP FIVE......Don't Yinz Know that the Time Has Arrived!!!

...............for waffles.... & grits!

When we finally got into the WH, there were very few fans and I can just about garuntee that NONE of them were as sure as us that NKOTB were actually coming. There were two older men sitting in a booth and they started asking us what was going on and why we were all there. I ordered a chocolate chip waffle but I literally only ate 1/4 of it because my nerves were already shot at that point.

Then, they guys started to make fun of the NKOTB and instead of arguing with them, I decided ignoring them was the best idea.... (Not real sure how I managed to take the high road for once.) We kept twittering JK and he assured us that they would be there VERY SHORTLY.

After we had been there a while, we suddenly saw several tour buses pulling into the parking lot next to the WH. The population of the WH suddenly exploded and there were now about 35 screaming women waiting for what seeemed like forever until the guys got off of the buses. A couple JBWKZ came in first and unfortunately not too many people noticed them. But I said "Hi" and told them they are amazing, even more so close up.

Donnie must have been looking in the wrong direction or something because he tweeted that there didn't look like anyone was at the WH and he figured it would be a quiet night. He was freakin WRONG!

In true Pittsburgh fashion, with red plastic cups, Donnie, Danny and JK came walking across the parking lot and into the WH. YouTube is full of videos of them coming in that the people who were with them shot. From the moment they walked into the WH, the party was on!

"When I say Waffle, you say house!"......"when I say grits, you say cheese!"

At this point, the people who work with the New Kids and the New Kids kids were tucked safely into the corder and Donnie, Jordan and Danny were now standing in the booths, ontop of the counters and filming all of us filming them. Then God Bless whoever had the idea to bring a radio into the WH....

Donnie started the music and before we knew it, there was a whole new concert going on. Donnie was playing DJ.....Jordan was jumping around on both sides of the counters filming the fans and the WH employees.... Danny didn't have enough room to break dance so he watched the kids and probably ordered them something healthy to eat. Joey and Jon must be alittle too reserved for the WH gatherings.

I don't know if the guys intended on playing so much music but after Click, Click, Click Donnie realized that we were not going to let them just sit down and eat. At this point people were standing all over the chairs, the booths, the counters and the tables. Donnie asked what we wanted to hear next.....the general consensus was Dirty Dancing or Sexify My Love. But Ddub had other ideas. So we sang Dirty Waffles and Sexify My Grits.

At some point in this crazyness I took my phone out to call Maria again and saw that Jon had tweeted and I literally laughed out loud and wished that Jon was in the WH too. He said something along the lines of: "If I didn't see it for myself I would never believe that Ddub, Danny and JK have girls dancing on tables inside a Waffle House." Hilarious!! I heart Jon.

There was a breif point where the guys sat down and scarfed some food quickly. The music never stopped however and we actually became the ones giving them the concert. After eating some food, the guys started to enjoy the crowd again. Danny stayed pretty much in the corner with the kids but Ddub and JK were all over. They were walking through the crowd and shaking hands and taking pictures with everyone.

And of course JK recognized "Legs" and had to wipe the sweat off his forehead when he recognized her. The mini concert probably lasted about an hour until the guys invited all of us to follow them to Jones Beach for the next show. If I wasn't afraid of running out of vacation time, I probably would have followed them and enjoyed that show too!

By the time they left, Lauren and I had each gotten a picture with JK and I got mine with Donnie. He also complemeted Lauren's shirt and hugged her after she took our picture. Little jealous. Hahaha.

This is by far the longest post ever so all the other side notes will just be coming in their own little posts because I am appaled by how much I have written today!

5 Years

I realized today that I've spent the last 5 years of my life focused on two men that at this moment do not care about me at all.

For two years, the first one genuinely cared about me. The last three years have been all about a man that never cared about me.

The first one promised me everything I've ever wanted. A marriage, kids, a family and happily ever after. The second was only interested in one thing.

I'm done with it. I'm better than them and I'm better than what I settled for. I'm done now. Its time to get what I deserve and forget the rest.

Brainstorming

There is a plan being hatched to show Pirates management that we are sick of their attitudes and their terrible ideas.

A team cannot become cohesive and learn to win together when so many players are traded. They can't form a bond and the players desperately would love to get the respect they deserve as athletes.

Stay tuned, this should get interesting!

Sexify My Grits - Part 2

My second little sidebar about the night of the concert has the same theme as the first : Jordan <3's>

I remember getting to the Waffle House and totally thinking that I had outsmarted everyone. I was sure that I was the only one clever enough to know that Pittsburgh does indeed have WH's. Since we really didn't have anything to do until the guys arrived and fell in love with us, we decided to see what their Twitter statuses were.

There wasn't much posted but we decided to start sending messages to them in hopes of getting a responce and finding out if they were on their way to us. The first message started out innocent enough...Something about "great show guys bet you're hungry, you still coming out for waffles?" I may have still been intoxicated at this point so I really don't remember that first tweet we sent to JK.

We saw another car pull up with NKOTB phrases painted on their windows and I decided to take a stroll inside and see if there was any talk of anything amongst the people inside who looked like people that didn't exactly look like they would be New Kids fans. The waitress said something about people were asking about them coming earlier in the evening but she knew nothing about them actually showing up.

I got back in my car and realized my phone was about to die so I plugged it into the charger and noticed that I had a new email. Usually they are foreign ministries trying to offer me 10's of billions of dollars but instead, the subject line of this email read "Direct Message from JordanKnight"...... and I almost pissed my pants. (Sidenote, until June 11, 2009 I had absolutely no interest in JK but now I <3>

I slowly and calmly turned my head to Lauren and said "I just got a direct message from JORDAN KNIGHT!!!!!" At which point the screaming was incredibly loud, apparently to the point that the girls who were in the other car heard us and I saw all their heads snap towards my truck. His first responce was simple: "not sure yet, we'll let you know." They were one their way.

At this point we are using my phone to respond to JK but pretending that its only Lauren talking to him. Clearly, I could not keep the conversation G rated for too long. Nothing too wild but he did ask if we were in the Meet&Greet and when I said yes, he commented that Lauren's shorts were "wowza." HAHAHA It was amazingly ridiculous.

We had to now tell someone and since there were only three other girls there, we told them. The conversation continued and JK let us know they were on the way. Lauren and the other girls went inside to get a table because more and more people were showing up by the minute. I stayed in my truck charging the phone and twittering JK. Then he direct messaged me an address I will never forget: 430 Race Track Road.
We were at the wrong WH....
I to this day have absolutely no idea where Race Track Road is but dammit I was going to get there. So I texted Lauren who calmly alerted the originial girls we met and one by one they all came out and they knew where the other WH was.
We drove there at an orderly 95 miles an hour. I was actually impressed that her little car could do that. At some points there were navigation systems, cell phones and BlackBerries (aweseome spelling) flying around the inside of the Buick. We pull off the highway, I can see the WH sign...... but before we get there, there is a sign that says:
"Bridge Out".....
Back to the highway, more Dale Jr Nascar driving..... Drive through cornfields...... More winding country roads....No brake pedals.....And we finally arrive at the WH.
Again JK direct messages and assures us that they are on their way to us and it's only the five of us and two older guys in the WH waiting for the Baby Daddy Buses!!

STEP FOUR.....I can give you more!

.......... and we're coming to get it Waffle House!

Leaving the concert was truly an out of body experience for me. I don't remember much of the details because all I knew was that we were DEFINATELY going to hang out and eat some waffles with the New Kids.

We kissed our umbrellas, that were with security, goodbye and we made it out of Star Lake in record time. Honestly I never remember getting out of the parking lot in under 45 minutes but I swear we were out in 10. And surprisingly I didn't even have to drive over anyone.

Luckily I had dated a guy named Tim who worked by the Waffle House in Washington Pa because that was the only reason that I even knew we had WH's in Pittsburgh. So with the help of a GPS, we were on our way to get some waffles and all I could think about was (hopefully) taking a picture with Donnie and I was sure Lauren was going to get her hands on Jordan.

I have to take this moment to thank those people who made it possible for nearly all of us to have a navigation system in the car. Stalking celebrities is so much easier this way!

It was a longer drive than I thought it would be to the Waffle House but we made it. We were still screeching about the concert, remembering each moment of the M&G and concert, and still listening to their music. Lauren called her mom, and the call dropped 12 times while we rode through what I'll politely call "less-urban" areas but we kept calling her back and she told us we were nuts for thinking they were actually going to show up at the WH.

Nevertheless, we arrived at the Waffle House about 45 minutes after the concert and I started to realize that if they were coming, they were probably a good bit behind us. I'm guessing it takes a while to get everyone ready to move but we were not leaving that WH. We were the first car in the parking lot so we stayed put because we really didn't know what else to do at that point. It seemed as if we might actually be the only ones on the right track for the New Kids......

Yea right! But this is when the night started to get interesting!
