Yardwork

This was an uber-awkward moment today....

After I got home tonight I wasn't feeling very perky so I plopped myself on the couch for a night of mindless TV watching. But I could hear my neighbor cutting his grass. No biggie. I can still veg out.

BUT now it seems that I have discovered who cut my grass a couple weeks ago because.... My neighbor cut my grass again tonight.

I was a big chicken and didn't go out to talk to him. I pretended I wasn't home so now I need to come up with something nice to do for him.....

I'm putting my thinking cap on..... Or I will try to dream about it cus this girl is TIRED!

First Day

On a funny note today (which is a sad day) I got to watch all the new interns get poked and prodded and wander around the hospital. Hilarious!

STEP THREE......Its Just You and Me

..........or at least it felt that way, because I wasn't paying attention to anyone else.

The concert itself was fantastic. The show was completely different that what we saw in Erie in the Spring. The set, the clothes, the order. Everything.

Even better was the fact that Donnie spent most of the concert right in front of me! And I was able to get a million A-MA-ZING photos with my soberingly steady hand.

I'll never forget what Donnie said at the first break in singing when hewas talking to the crowd: "So THIS is what its like to win the Super Bowl and the Stanley Cup in the same year!" So, I decided that would be the perfect time to throw the "LETS GO PENS!" towel onto the stage.

Yep, it hit his foot and he held it up for the audience. God I love that man!
I've honestly never seen 5 men of their age with such energy and having so much fun! They were like little kids running around and just having fun. They were happy and it was real.
I was a happy girl when Donnie came out "poppin champagne" and then sang CoverGirl (to me). Jordan was not half naked but still impressively attractive and the Jabbas were sporting Mr Rogers sweaters so of course I loved that. And I always love any excuse for people to wear spandex and flurescent colors like Joey, his solos rocked. Danny can still breakdance but Jon was the one who was FULL of surprises.
We really must have made an impression on them too because in Step by Step, Jon Knight surprised his band mates and all the fans in attendance by singing STEP 5!
That moment may have been my favorite moment of the night (until we get to Sexify my Grits)! All 5 of the guys were spread across the stage and immediately Joe, Donnie and Danny rushed Jon. I was pretty sure that after Joe jumped on him Jon was ok but then Donnie came out of nowhere and also took a flying leap onto Jon's shoulders.
The happiness that came from that moment is something that I will never forget. Jordan finally got to his brother on the right wing of the stage and I would kill to know what he said when he held his brothers face in his hands. Meanwhile the rest of the guys are jumping up and down with the biggest smiles I've ever seen on their faces.
It was one of those times where anyone could tell they were doing what they love. There were no pretenses there, it was just the happiness of 5 guys and a million sisters.

Excuses, excuses....

I know, I know. But gotta throw this in real quick.... If u want more of an insight into the concert either go to

http://www.nkotb.com/ and watch the "waffle house after party"

Or....

Search youtube.com for "nkotb waffle house after party"

If u do, I'll so be in the video!

Promise!

I know I've been slacking but it just seems like I can't catch enough time to update this blog!

I still have 4 steps left then the Stanley Cup, last nights concert (guess who and where) and then tonights concert.

Gosh, how does work expect me to work straight through without blogging?!? I'm not ok with this lack of time for the REALLY important stuff in my life.

Hopefully it slows down today and I can get a couple more steps out of the way today.

Smooches!

STEP TWO....There's So Much We Can Do

.....when you're buzzed and watching opening acts.

Obviously after the Meet & Greet and Dirty Waffles I needed to get another beer, have a cigarette and tell every single person I know. But NOONE was answering their phones!

I called M. I called my sister. Finally I knew someone at my parent's house would answer the phone and luckily Mom was there. I'm sure I was (drunkenly) screaming into the phone, as was everyone else around me.

After they opened the gates, we decided to take a walk around and start looking at the things you can buy. Well actually, Lauren decided...I on the other hand told her that me and my (free) beers would be stationed next to the "B" on the giant B94 banner.

And so I stood there and called most of the people in my phone, who all asked how long I had been drinking, while Lauren looked at all of the merchandise for sale. And then it was time to go to our seats!

I was really sure that we were headed int he wrong direction when we started walking to our seats. I just knew that they were gonna laugh at us and point to a spot on the lawn where we could catch a shuttle that would take us to our seats somewhere in Ohio. But I should have known better. Lauren got us the best seats ever.

So we walked into the lowest section of the pavilion, handed the guy in the yellow shirt our tickets and he pointed "down front." We kept walking, and walking and then, we were in the 6th row from the stage, just slightly off center!!!!!!!

A-MA-ZING!!!!

First out were the JBWKZ who are a dance group that I love more and more each time I see them. They always get the audience's attention and really get people excited for the show. Tried to snap a few pictures....too drunk, pictures were fuzzy.

Then it was Jesse McCartney's turn and he was letting us all know that he's "22 now, ya know?" Also not a bad performance by any means. On the other hand, the pictures were still terrible.

I did run away for a few minutes because I knew that I would not be able to make it through the whole concert if I didn't pee. Surprisingly the girls sitting next to me and her sister bought me a beer and gave it to me when I came out of the bathroom. ROCK ON!

Luckily, by the time Jesse was finished I was sobering up and could finally hold a camera still.

Dirty Waffles - Part 1

I need to repeat that the M&G was very short and sweet. 3 minutes, tops.

My friend and I completely separated because we (luckily) do not fight over the same New Kid. I did not see much of her, just had a quick convo with Donnie about waffle houses and him being sued for kisses on the lips, got a hug and kiss from Jon (who is looking A-MA-ZING lately) and then security was hustling us out of there.

But on my way about, I see my friend again finally and what is even better is I see her being stalked by none other than Jordan Knight. He proceeds to make a comment about how nice her legs are (thank goodness I have hot friends) and assures us that they will in fact be going to the waffle house after the show!

Stay tuned for Part 2- Sexify My Grits!

STEP ONE.... We Can Have Lots of Fun....

.....cus meet & greets have free alcohol and celebrities to meet!

As soon as we got to Starlake, it was time to stand in line to get into the Meet & Greet. We had never done this before. Luckily, the DoubleMint twins were infront of us in line and filled us in on the details.

Their advice:
- RUN to the one you want to talk to
- DON'T let anyone get infront of you
- TRY to kiss them all....One of the DT's had managed that at their last M&G experience.

It seemed like hours that we were standing in line waiting to get in but finally we got up to the sign in tent and handed over our cameras (they gave them back before the concert started) and we got our goodie bags. Contents: A beach towel with the tour dates, Sunscreen on a clippy, Cherry Chapstik with their picture and finally..... NKOTB boy short panties.

It was fantastic....only problem is they were tiny. I'm sure they were expecting dirty pictures of women wearing them after the concert and decided that only the girls that should be in those pictures would fit in the panties! hahaha....

We finally got inside, got a few beers and patiently waited for the boys to arrive. After about 20 minutes Donnie tweeted that he was walking into the M&G in the Steel City and the place went nuts!!!!! Then he walked out from behind the screen they were standing behind and started high fiving people. Other NKOTB's were reaching up and over the screen and trying to jump up and see the fans.

Well, from what I can remember, the beer was flowing (extremely freely) and I figured eating any food and soaking up the alcohol would just be a terrible decision so I drank until we reached letter N and it was our turn with the guys. The DoubleMint Twins were actually in the M&G with us and the four of us were the first ones in the room. Like clockwork, we all stood our ground and got the boys we wanted. There may have been some pushing but we managed to be in place for the photos....Until a rouge Donnie fan ran in at the end and he put his arm around her instead of me... :(

Bitch.

But check out the Dirty Waffles post for the really good stuff!

Best Concert........EVER

Well, it's been nearly a week since the NKOTB concert and I have not blogged about it one single time. It's probably because I am still trying to catch up on my sleep. (I know I'm not actually old but not sleeping for 2 days is harder than it used to be!)

The concert was absolutely...A-MA-ZING!

The only complaint I have is that since this is what I call the "rainy season" in Pittsburgh, my hair was a hot mess. Perfectly straight when I left my house, wavy in the meet & greet, curly during the concert, ponytail at the Waffle House.

Today I have caught the blog bug and I'll post a ton today about the amazing weekend that can only happen in a city as A-MA-ZING as Pittsburgh!!!

Smooches!

The Truth

I need to be honest. I can barely remember being an NKOTB fan the first time around.

But to be fair, I'm not even sure I was in school the first time.

I can remember having a light blue and pink puzzle with individual pictures of all of them on it. I can remember my sister thinking I was weird because I liked Donnie instead of Jordan, and I'm pretty sure I had the night gown. But that's about it.

I felt better about my vague memories when I saw them the first time this year and they announced that they had been together since 1989. The even better part about that was when the girl standing next to me said "I wasn't even born yet."

It just goes to show you that some things do get better with time and they are DEFINITELY people who got better with time. Love the old stuff but I am a WAY bigger fan this time!!

Wakey Wakey Eggs and Bakey!

Today is a sleepy day..... I can't even blame it on staying up to watch the Pirates play 15 innings against Nate, I was too upset to watch. I'm not sure why I am so sleepy but I think it has something to do with my short work week. Knowing that I'll be off on Thursday is just making me want to take a mini vacation now! O well, I'll try to stay awake, lunchtime in about an hour and a half!

Brr....

I love the weather in this city. It was burning hot yesterday and today I'm pretty chilly waiting for the shuttle.

Also this raises a good question about the weather for Thursday. Let's all start hoping for high 70's and sunshine!

To Snoop or Not to Snoop?

So the concert is Thursday.... They have done 4 shows already.... I can't decide whether I should read anything about the concert before I go or not.... I'm sure there are pictures and videos and all kinds of reviews but I don't know if I should see it before I go.....

Maybe I'll just google and see a few pictures.............

Sabotage?

Ok, back to the Blackberry for blogging.....

I'm not sure why the computers are moving so slowly today but they are. And I do not want to risk my blog time by having it up right now when people are potentially working on my internet.

I feel so sneaky trying to fit in my blog. Its like a dirty little secret..... But way less exciting!

Ha!

Determination

My goal for the day is to get Donnie Wahlberg to respond to one of my "tweets" about the concert on Thursday at Star Lake. (I refuse to use the correct name.)

I WILL make him answer me!

Weddings

When I was younger, I hated going to weddings. It seemed that all of the aunts and the grandmotherly types used to come up to me, poke me in the ribs and cackle, telling me, 'YOU'RE NEXT'...They stopped that shit after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

I was just forwarded that email! LOVE IT!!

Love You Mr Wahlberg!

Weekend Fun

Well, the good thing about this weekend is.........its over. Coming back to work was a great relief from the weekend. And I just keep telling myself that I can get through today, then have two more work days and then NKOTB!!!!

I can't wait!!!! Still need to figure out what to wear to the concert, gotta check the weather report, do my toenails (purple of course to match the tattoo), find a slutty shirt, paint it, get the hair perfected, gotta watch the video a few more times, listen to the CD's constantly.....

Basically, I'm 14 again this week!

Friday Night

I was just told by a very reliable source that the TGIFridays at the waterfront is doing an autism fundraiser. Just go down Friday night and tell your waitress that you know about the fundraiser. One of the bartenders will give you a card and a portion of your bill will go to Autism charities.

Rain

Freezing cold rain + my white tanktop = I would have won any wet T-shirt contest to be found in the shuttle lot after work!

Gym.....

Well, I was doing good with the whole going to the gym after work thing (it was only 2 days, I know I know I know) but looks like I'm going to have to go for the Biggest Loser video when I get home because silly me forgot my tennis shoes.....

That Biggest Loser workout is hardcore. I did an hour of elliptical and treadmill yesterday and it did not hurt nearly as bad as the 25 minute sculpting work out video.

Once I really get into the swing of things I'm going to try and do the gym and the video everyday. Wish me luck!

Not a good day......

I'm really not sure why I've been in such a mood today. I could list the reasons but that will not help. I'm going to blame it on the weather. It's another gloomy day in the rainy season that Pittsburgh calls spring.

I'm self diagnosing myself with Season Affective Disorder! hahaha

Jon & Kate

I missed this week's episode of Jon & Kate so I don't know what happened on there yet but I stole a second to read a quick article about Jon saying the kids are happy.

I really do think that Jon just does not want to do the show anymore. I think he would love to just go back to life the way it was before they were uber-famous. Whether anyone cheated on anyone else is an issue that I don't know the truth about but I really do think that Jon would be perfectly happy if he could just live a normal life with his wife and kids.

I guess time will tell....

Adulthood

So, I'm sitting at my desk for lunch, preparing envelopes for a surprise party, calling back patients, responding to emails and still trying to have a freakin bite of my taco salad.

When did I become this person?

I'm ok with it but really, it seems like not too long ago I was just running around on multiple smoke breaks with paramedics and sitting in a smoky bar until 2 am.

Since that time, I rarely see medics at all at this hospital, there is no more smoking in a bar and, I haven't been up after midnight in weeks.

Wow. How time changes things. Hopefully this means this part of my life is coming to an end and the wedding/mommy/family part is getting closer!

Anniversary Week

Well, there are two anniversaries this week. The first one being today. And now that I'm sitting here reflecting on them, I realize that they were terrible, awful, horrible days when they happened but these days should be happy for me now.

One anniversary freed me from a possessive asshole and the other anniversary should be celebrated. It is a celebration of the advances in modern medicine. Of the strength of humanity. And of the power of love.

So, these days that could be really sucky are really just a boost for me this year! Sparkle on!

Employee Fitness Center....

Does it bother anyone else that one of my workout mixes starts with Tupac, moves on to 5ive, and has some rascal flatts near the end?

I think I'm rather eclectic!

Day 2 at the employee gym included a doctor who lifted weights very angrily and did not sanitize anything he touched. Also, he looks just like Dr. Green from ER.

Working Out

There is something strange about working out in a hospital.

Maybe its the cramped room with a giant window at ass level, facing the ER entrance.

Maybe its the doctors offices that open into the gym.

Or maybe its the crash cart next to the treadmills. At least its blue instead of the usual red. Don't want to be too obvious about folks croakin' at the gym.
